First off, how does Holition work?

Holition is a patent-pending software / hardware solution which is based on augmented reality technology. Holition software places a virtual 3D object onto a marker item, allowing the user to quickly try on a catalogue of products in real time as though looking through a mirror either online, in-store or at events.

Why has the company decided to launch this now?

The ability to try on items prior to purchase is expected to drive sales and increase online spend. The technology, developing internet capabilities - including mobile - and growth of online retail suit this timely product. Holition provides internet retailers with a further tool with which to capture clients.

Holition is a global product with global reach as it is delivered online. We are actively in discussions with a number of global brands wishing to use Holition.

Is this a propriety system?

Holition is currently Patent Pending and is based on developments in augmented reality which support any item to be worn or viewed on the body. Holition technology has been developed in-house by joint venture partners Inition who successfully use a version of the technology for clients such as BMW, Toyota, BBC, Top Trumps, Samsung.

Can you tell me what other product categories it can be used with and how?

Holition is anything to be worn or viewed on the body; we have identified a wide scope of products to which this could be applied. However, we are initially focusing on watches, jewellery and eyewear. We would be able to demonstrate small hand-held electrical items such as phones or mp3 players. What sort of set up costs are there for retailers installing the system?

We work with a combination of licence fee and pay per download. The licence fee covers use of the software for an agreed period and can include our creative and product input fee depending on format received. We then operate a pay per download model. Can you confirm how I can use Holition?

IN-STORE INSTALATION: Holition simply works with any video screen (which may already be in-store). Ideal use is with a touch screen. You will require a computer and a webcam.

ON-LINE INSTALATION: Holition is accessed directly from your website. End users will require a computer with minimum specification (see below) and a webcam.

AT EVENTS: Holition can be interacted with at parties or sports events where sponsorship is required. A wristband entry is printed with our symbol, when the wearer walks past a promotional area screen, the guest is wearing the promoter's products, a watch for example.

What is the minimum specification of computer, and can it work on Mac and PC?

Holition is available as Mac or PC versions. The following minimum specification is required:

PC: At least 2GB of spare RAM, a good graphics card and a webcam. PCs must be running Windows 2000, XP or Vista. Graphics cards should be NVIDIA GeForce 6 or above, or ATI HD 2400 or above.

Mac should be an Intel based running Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard and above, CPU 2.0 GHz, 1GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7/ATI Radeon HD3400 or its equivalent and above, and OpenGL 2.0.
