Announcing a Multi-Faceted Collaborative Project at Dover Street Market

Public Exhibition 18th March – 1st April 2011

March 17th 2011 sees the unveiling of a collaborative project between four of the most exciting and cutting edge names from a unique blend of backgrounds encompassing art, fashion, design and futuristic technology. One year in the making, the concept reflects the innovative minds of Hannah Martin, Moritz Waldemayer, Holition and Dover Street Market.

Hannah Martin, known for her sculpturally iconic take on high-end jewellery, reveals her fifth narrative, designed in tribute to the man who can seemingly travel time, The Comte de St Germain. ‘The Man Who Knows Everything and Never Dies’ Voltaire 1760. The first series to be taken from her latest story, The Shaman’s Triangle, is the focal point for this most ambitious and multi-faceted of affairs.

For two weeks in March, Dover Street Market is the setting for Hannah Martin’s uniquely designed 18 carat Red Gold Comte’s Pyramid Ring. An imposing yet elegant fifteen-foot obelesque forms both mount and accentuation for this geometric and bold shape, which is again defined by protective red laser beams. As visitors feel compelled to lean in towards the centre of this sculpture, so they realise that to break the laser is to release soundbites and compositions taken from the Comte’s mysterious 400 years of life.

This sensory deception of time through shape, light, sound and colour is enriched by a spectacular 3D application from Holition, leaders in creative ‘augmented reality’, culminating in a remarkable, hallucinogenic experience that is both unspeakably ancient and yet utterly contemporary.

To coincide with the opening at Dover Street Market visitors can also ‘try out’ the experience for themselves online at www.hannahmartin.com where the visitor is able to see for themselves the elements of the physical real-world environment being augmented by virtual computer-generated imagery creating the illusion of travel and time.

This bold, forward thinking and ambitious production will translate The Comte de St Germain’s apparition to the far corners of the world through its concise vision.
