NICK CLEGG makes speech to Business Leaders at Holition’s Shoreditch Studio
25 October 2011 – Holition, and sister company Inition, welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg to its studio in East London where he was one of the first people to see Holition’s new iPad augmented reality application in action, part of this UK based award winning firm’s development in driving innovation in retail technologies.
London’s trendy Silicon Roundabout is often featured in the press and Holition’s CEO, Jonathan Chippindale was particularly pleased to learn that Holition’s Shoreditch premises was chosen by the Government to put its message across about supporting Small and Medium Enterprises. Over the last few months Holition has been working closely with UK Trade & Investment London, a government department that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy. Following a strict selection process the Department recommended Holition host the press conference given by Nick Clegg whose speech outlined the Coalition’s aims to lighten the load of regulation on SMEs and empower its business leaders.
Holition’s extraordinary journey began less than two years ago as a venture start-up to explore and expand the role that technological innovation can play in communicating with the new digital consumer. Today Holition is the leader in cutting edge 3D and augmented reality solutions for the luxury market providing luxury brands with new, highly innovative and creative digital tools to engage with today’s online customer. Clegg’s speech was about supporting such innovative companies and removing the shackles of red tape which can stem growth amongst small businesses. The Government has tasked itself to be the first to leave office having reduced the overall burden of regulation and with more than 21,000 active regulations in the UK today, this is certainly a challenge.
Jonathan Chippindale, CEO, Holition, commented: “It is imperative for the Government to address the needs of SMEs in the UK as it is these companies that will be responsible for sustaining economic growth. In a global business environment it is essential for UK businesses to remain one step ahead. In our industry, as creative 3D technologists, it is hugely important for us to continuously drive innovation and support our growing talent. The move towards reduced legislation will enable businesses to have greater flexibility and freedom to take risks without constantly looking over their shoulder at the Compliance Code.”
