(London - November 17, 2020) - FACES & Holition Win Best Retail Technology award at the Seamless Middle East 2020 Awards, marking its third straight win in 2020 for the collaboration.
As pioneers in beauty retail in the region, FACES has become an undeniable leader in the fragrance, makeup and skincare space, by creating real emotional connections with consumers in every beauty moment.
To revamp their flagships in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Park, renowned beauty retailer, Faces (formerly known as the Chalhoub Group’s Wojooh), collaborated with London-based creative innovation studio, Holition in 2019 to create a next-generation digital playground.
Reimagining their brick-and-mortar stores, we conceptualised and built FACES’ Store of the Future. Featuring four unique, yet interconnected tech installations, the all-new physical retail store elevates the shopping experience by creating a space that tackles every consumer need within the retail journey seamlessly through technology.
Inside the digital playground, consumers are invited to experience the following installations:
1. Fragrance Bar: A personalised tool to aid in product discovery; this installation helps customers discover which fragrance is right for them or to help them find a gift for someone special.
2. Test Bar: A phygital ‘test and play’ approach to a connected shelf, the Test Bar empowers customers to creatively learn about product ingredients, customer reviews and packaging information for products they interact with.
3. Gift Wizard: The third installation is an interactive display that uses personality diagnostics to help users find the right gift for a specific occasion.
4. Magic Mirror: The easiest way to ‘try before you buy’, powered by FACE by Holition™ (Holition’s hyper-realistic augmented reality software) is an experiential trip into the world of virtual cosmetics, allowing users to try on digital makeup looks, take a selfie, share it and obtain essential product information through an Instagrammable format.
Alongside the recent recognition at Seamless Middle East, the region’s leading conference and exhibition for the payments, e-commerce and retail industry, FACES: Store of the Future has also been recognised by Digiday at the Glossy Beauty Awards 2020 for Best Physical Retail Launch. The collaboration has also won a Platinum Award under the Experiential & Immersive In-Store Category at this year’s Muse Creative Awards, presented by the International Awards Associates (IAA).
